Holy Family Ministries Capital Campaign

Holy Family Ministries is greatly pleased to announce the Building Hope campaign to raise $6.5 million with which to improve educational and cultural opportunities for children living in Chicago’s low-income, west side neighborhoods. Total project cost is $8.8 million. At 12/31/06, over $5 million had been raised.

The goals of Holy Family Ministries’ Building Hope campaign are:

  • Provide a permanent home for Holy Family Lutheran School, ending two decades of renting inadequate space in aged buildings, and increased educational opportunities on the West Side through an expansion of Holy Family School’s educational program to include 300 students
  • Provide space for Holy Family's youth development programs including a pre-school, after-school, and summer camp programs.
  • Provide a facility that serves the adult community through evening and weekend availability for community meetings, special events, job training, and adult education programs
The Project:

Designed by award-winning FGM Architects of Oak Brook, the new facility will consist of 45,000 square feet on three floors. It will consist of 18 rooms. The "25% green roof" will feature a demonstration garden. Outside will be a playground area.

General contractor is W.B. Olson, Inc. of Northbrook. Targeted opening date is early 2008.
