Holy Family Alumni have continued to be “go-getters” in many ways: graduating from High School, graduating from college and serving their community to name a few.

Featured Alumni: Gavin Simpson

Gavin Simpson learned to be a "go-getter" at Holy Family Lutheran School (HFLS). There he developed the confidence and poise to enter the workplace nine years later, knowing he has something to offer other people. Gavin is one of many Holy Family success stories.

Gavin "Go-got" a job as a caseworker in a group home for the mentally disabled. Daily, Gavin teaches his clients life skills and how to socialize with others.

Gavin "Go-got" a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in 2004. Originally a criminal justice major, Gavin shifted his interests to psychology and he made this his major, with a minor in administration of justice.

Gavin "Go-got" the Gronlund College Scholarship, an award based on a combination of merit and need. One semester, Gavin was put on grade warning, and he promised to try harder in the coming semester. He put his nose to the grindstone, and changed majors. The results led him to the success he enjoys today.

Gavin is thinking about getting a masters degree in psychology in the future. To prepare for this he's living at home, where he can walk to work and save some money to pay off his student loans before undertaking this latest challenge.
